Zweiundzwanzig - Action/Phone

[Since his dismissal from the library, Wilhelm had thought he'd have enough time to start and truly gain more ground in discovering the secrets of the town. As it stood, however, what he had assumed would give him a head start in the race hadn't evolved past the slow walk he had apparently always been going. He almost wish he had a job back, in that it would at least give him something to do rather then apparently fruitlessly try and search for answers.

Especially when he felt he finally knew one of the answers, but that it was one he should've stumbled on a long time ago.

Regardless, with nothing to do he had grown bored, and decided that he would venture outside to see if he could find something to keep him interested. To survey the current domain he inhabited, as it were. After all, portions of his authority had been returned to him.]

Got two choices on how most of you can interact with Wilhelm today Mayfield

A. Hope you Like Telepathy

[Wilhelm can be found around several places in town today. In the park, at a restaurant or outside some of the business, or occasionally browsing through the library. Really, he just seems to be an unassuming gentleman going about his day.

But eventually, you'll hear a voice. And it doesn't seem to be a spoken one. Rather, it's like a feeling, something being broadcast within you.]

~Can you hear me?~

[Will you answer?]

B. Phone

After my months of imprisonment here along with you, I've come to a train of thought I'm sure that many of the rest of you have had as well. To me, while not the only answer it seems to be the most logical one for a variety of reasons I'll spare listing at the moment. But, what I have to say, I suppose, is a riddle of sorts. And I'd like to know your responses.

What would be your reaction if you were to find that the face you were born with was not solely your own?

C. Locked to Theta

[Hey Theta, guess who's heard you've been reset and is currently knocking on your door.]

Tell me, Yeshua. Realistically, what would happen to our universe if both of us, who are pillars of it, were to suddenly disappear?

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[chaos finds a door to lean against, thinking about that silently. He takes his time, before looking at Wilhelm.]

If I were to disappear, I seriously doubt that there would be much change in the flow. My presence is only needed as a Failsafe, after all. You, however... If the world has no sense of a creator, I imagine it would perish.

But this is assuming we were to disappear entirely.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly.

What if we didn't disappear at all?

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
If we did not disappear, then what? Our consciousness was removed, but our bodies remained?

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Or they were copied wholesale.

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
[A small frown that passes almost as soon as it comes]

Like when recreating Miltia of 15 years ago? Each consciousness, whether living or dead, was drawn back into that time for a short while?

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Partially.

More in that our consciouses are copies of the originals. Otherwise, we're not tied to who we think we are any other way.

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Like copying a program from a computer, then overwriting it on the main source, but letting the copy run a different direction? It would explain why people seem to have no recollection of being here when they return home...

But wouldn't that mean that whatever controls this place would have access, at least in our case, to the Higher Domain?

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. And the program continues. Perhaps us slowly regaining part of ourselves is part of the program.

Or, more accurately, aging. After all, a new born babe has yet to reach its full potential.

Therein lies a conundrum. They could. I hadn't thought of it before, because I was so certain we were on a level playing field. What if they, or at least Lucy, are something higher then us?

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
We had assumed she might at least be on par with us, so I see no reason why logically she could not be above us. In fact, the thought had occurred to me, but I did not think highly on it because I know of no other force than perhaps what humans called U-DO that lay above us.

But that is more troublesome if it is the case. Is the being directly related to us and our world, or from outside it? If the former, is it a being we know? And if the latter, is it stronger than that which we know to be above us?

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
And even U-DO can be tamed by us, or at least ensnared. She may be beyond even that.

I should assume the being is an interloper entirely. Perhaps where we've been drawn is its native domain, as it would appear to have access to several different dimensions at a time.

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[A slow nod]

Troublesome if so. U-DO itself did not go out of its way to cause suffering. It was just a part of the flow of things, and in the case of those who he could speak with, a curiosity with a fatal end.

Of course, that would also explain why it is one's powers can be so easily taken. I have even met Death here.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. U-DO was almost childlike. Ironic, that the one who disguises itself as a child is anything but.

As have I, or at least spoken with him over the phone.

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-16 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagine the irony is intentional, if not entirely for deceptive, and possibly defensive, purposes. A human will naturally react to a child differently than they will an adult, regardless of a child's behavior. This of course applies to any with the ability to feel human emotion.

He's pleasant. He was glad I did not take off running from him, as he is what one would call intimidating.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Undoubtedly.

To most he does. Death holds no fear for us.

[identity profile] chaoschildofgod.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. We both are more or less eternal, although I imagine when humans no longer need us, we will at least disappear from the Lower Domain.

[chaos then shifts and moves to find a seat somewhere]

But shall we get back to what you were saying before? If it is indeed that a copy of ourselves has been taken, then what? There will be no effect on the world from which we came from, and even should we 'escape', nothing would change. Yet I still do not like the idea of remaining here.
