[Since his dismissal from the library, Wilhelm had thought he'd have enough time to start and truly gain more ground in discovering the secrets of the town. As it stood, however, what he had assumed would give him a head start in the race hadn't evolved past the slow walk he had apparently always been going. He almost wish he had a job back, in that it would at least give him something to do rather then apparently fruitlessly try and search for answers.

Especially when he felt he finally knew one of the answers, but that it was one he should've stumbled on a long time ago.

Regardless, with nothing to do he had grown bored, and decided that he would venture outside to see if he could find something to keep him interested. To survey the current domain he inhabited, as it were. After all, portions of his authority had been returned to him.]

A. Hope you Like Telepathy

[Wilhelm can be found around several places in town today. In the park, at a restaurant or outside some of the business, or occasionally browsing through the library. Really, he just seems to be an unassuming gentleman going about his day.

But eventually, you'll hear a voice. And it doesn't seem to be a spoken one. Rather, it's like a feeling, something being broadcast within you.]

B. Phone

After my months of imprisonment here along with you, I've come to a train of thought I'm sure that many of the rest of you have had as well. To me, while not the only answer it seems to be the most logical one for a variety of reasons I'll spare listing at the moment. But, what I have to say, I suppose, is a riddle of sorts. And I'd like to know your responses.

What would be your reaction if you were to find that the face you were born with was not solely your own?

"I am one among many, but Alastor himself chose me, as I chose him, so it was an equitable arrangement. I don't regret it."

And what, pray tell, do you do to keep balance? That's a vague idea, and many have different definitions of it.

"There's a very direct meaning for flame hazes. If too many humans are consumed by Crimson denizens, local consensual reality in an area starts falling apart, and the area becomes a boiling mass which eventually dissipates. Too many people are taken out of reality and the remaining structure collapses, rather like a house with the foundations undermined."

[Oh, Wilhelm can understand that very well. So a more localized version of his own duty, in a sense, although more aggressive apparently by necessity.]

And you are entirely human, aside from being a host to Alastor?

"As human as a flame haze can be. We gain immortality and enhanced strength, endurance, and the ability to regenerate our limbs, given enough time and power of existence."

"I hadn't thought to quantify how many. I've met quite a few though. We're far rarer than humans, though."

I'm merely interested in that your worlds appointed guardians are humans themselves.

"As we are both Crimson Denizen and human, we can understand both sides and keep the balance without hatred."
