Seiben - Uber Stimmungen (Voice then Action)

It has come to my attention that there is some force currently at work that appears to be able to assert influence over some of our residents here. Specifically, it seems to instill a far greater tendency towards aggression then usual. Considering I have only been here a month, aside from the post office I have only heard of some of the "games" this town appears to play on its inhabitants.

I'm wondering, does anyone believe this might be another action initiated by the town? Has their been a precedent of the town manipulating emotions before, or of it only affecting a select few rather then all present? Has anyone else noticed this increase in aggression, or have I, perhaps, given in to man's tendency to....over-think, I believe, is the statement.

It can't be one of our own doing this, of course. I'd be surprised if anyone had that much power here. And if they did, I would be surprised if they were honestly foolish enough to inflict it upon people with no rhyme or reason.

Certainly none of us here are that foolish, are we?

[Later on, you can also find Wilhelm at the library. While it's technically his job, he appears to be perusing the books in an attempt to find something useful he may have overlooked, though he clearly finds this a hopeless endeavor. So maybe he's just slacking off.

Feel free to bother him regardless.]

*He heard you over the phone, but he's never been to fond on relying on machines for communication, so he's come to bug you at work. Wilhelm may notice that the cuts on his hand are fewer in number and none of them are fresh.* You'd be surprised how foolish men gifted with power beyond what they should have can be, Partner.

Er, admittedly I've been chalking that up to the stress this place puts on people. Ya think it's more then that though?

[Ken isn't the smartest person on the block, but he understands people more then he thinks.]

I would almost wish I didn't know, but wishing for ignorance is the pinnacle of foolishness. I suppose I was merely wishing.

Which is an inherently human trait.

Stress is possible, but unlikely. If it had been stress, we would have seen this kind of outlash far earlier. At least, such would make more sense.

Maybe you're right. I wonder what's going on. Some of it may not be all from the same thing either.

Different sources are entirely possible. However, the degree of change I've seen would suggest that there's something more then natural forcing it.

Great. I was hopin' the town would pull something a bit more flashy so that we were sure something was going on. I hate subtle stuff.

I find it challenging. Which is welcome.

Well, I guess I can understand the sentiment. Playing soccer's more fun when your opponent knows what they're doing. But in cases like this I'm not so sure I agree.

I suppose it depends on the player.

Soccer doesn't include killing each other.

These are complications I'm used to fixing.

This place seems to have a unique effect on its residents.

What, soccer having no killing or subtle problems that are out to screw everybody over.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-24 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
One would almost think it a genius locii, if not for the fact that older residents have confirmed there seem to be normal captors responsible for this.

Hey, soccer is a good sport! It doesn't need killing in it!

I hardly said it did.

[identity profile] fractured-white.livejournal.com 2010-08-24 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
*Glancing at that eye patch.* But hardly ordinary by the standards of the humanity we know, else such feats as those we've seen them perform would be well outside their range of ability.

You said both so you sorta implied it.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-24 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Precisely. It's very likely that many, perhaps even most, of those who have been gathered here are more akin to as we are then to mankind in general.

[He ignores the glance at the eyepatch. He'll only go into detail about it if asked. Otherwise, it's an unnecessary point to talk about.]

I had assumed we were joking.

[identity profile] fractured-white.livejournal.com 2010-08-24 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'd noticed as well that those present are hardly on the level of ordinary men. One in particular I think you'd rather enjoy meeting~

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-24 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
And who might that be?

Well...Right. Yeah. Sorry, this place has me on edge and I wasn't paying complete attention. Sorry.
