Seiben - Uber Stimmungen (Voice then Action)

It has come to my attention that there is some force currently at work that appears to be able to assert influence over some of our residents here. Specifically, it seems to instill a far greater tendency towards aggression then usual. Considering I have only been here a month, aside from the post office I have only heard of some of the "games" this town appears to play on its inhabitants.

I'm wondering, does anyone believe this might be another action initiated by the town? Has their been a precedent of the town manipulating emotions before, or of it only affecting a select few rather then all present? Has anyone else noticed this increase in aggression, or have I, perhaps, given in to man's tendency to....over-think, I believe, is the statement.

It can't be one of our own doing this, of course. I'd be surprised if anyone had that much power here. And if they did, I would be surprised if they were honestly foolish enough to inflict it upon people with no rhyme or reason.

Certainly none of us here are that foolish, are we?

[Later on, you can also find Wilhelm at the library. While it's technically his job, he appears to be perusing the books in an attempt to find something useful he may have overlooked, though he clearly finds this a hopeless endeavor. So maybe he's just slacking off.

Feel free to bother him regardless.]

Wilhelm.

Have you been here long, Ken?

Er, a couple of months I think, I kinda lost track everything just blends together here.

Unfortunate, but it could easily be why they designed the town the way they did, as much as to keep an air of the 1950s.

Or at least a traditional perception of it.

It sucks let me tell you. This place is makin' me batty. What about you? Have you been here long?

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Not very long. A month, to be precise.

Well, just be careful, even if this new thing with the people isn't the town's doing, we're about due anyways for something.

I will ensure to prepare myself for it.

[He sounds a lot more interested then worried at the prospect of something else coming soon.]

Glad to hear it. Just don't let that curiosity I hear get you killed. Dying isn't fun even if you do come back the next day.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmm.

I wouldn't know, I must admit. Though I've given it plenty of thought.

What, dying? Admittedly I prefer it when it's a one time only experience.

Personal experience, or due to professional reasons?

It's less creepy that way! [He's a tad shocked that Wilhelm would ask that.]

I mean seriously, death is supposed to be permanent with your soul going wherever it's supposed to go.

[phone]

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
In most cases it is permanent, and cannot be undone once the conscious reaches the Shore.

Here, it seems, they've found a way to block that.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Or maybe we don't really die, we just think we do.

And the shore?

[phone]

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Mm. Perhaps. It'd be easier to trick the conscious into believing it's died then to stop it from reaching it's resting place.

The Shore of Memory. When the body dies, the conscious, no longer tied to a physical host, reaches the Shore of Memory, where it sits beside the tide and awaits to be re-assumed into the Collective Unconscious.

Huh, that's a really pleasant idea actually. [Way better then heaven and hell in his mind, though there are some he'd rather just stayed in hell.

Re: [phone]

How do you know? You can't really know until you're dead.

[phone]

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Or if you are one who doesn't die.

[phone]

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
But if you can't die, how can you be sure what the afterlife is like?

[phone]

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Who better to guard and assure the continuation of its function?

And to call the Shore the afterlife would be misleading. It's simply the individual conscious being reintegrated into the whole upon death. There is no "afterlife" proper.

[Sorry Wilhelm but he's going to completely misunderstand your first line.]

Wait wait wait, you're the freakin' grim reaper>/i>?

[A slight chuckle.]

No.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Then what...No. Never mind. Don't answer that. I've never been good with things like this. Shore? Cool.

[phone] - LOL, no problem

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-08-25 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
I find it a simpler system then most would force death to be.
