[There’s a small sipping sound over the phone, and he clears his throat before beginning to recite.]
It was far in the sameness of the wood;
I was running with joy on the Demon’s trail,
Though I knew what I hunted was no true god.
It was just as the light was beginning to fail
That I suddenly heard—all I needed to hear:
It has lasted me many and many a year.
The sound was behind me instead of before,
A sleepy sound, but mocking half,
As of one who utterly couldn’t care.
The Demon arose from his wallow to laugh,
Brushing the dirt from his eye as he went;
And well I knew what the Demon meant.
I shall not forget how his laugh rang out.
I felt as a fool to have been so caught,
And checked my steps to make pretence
It was something among the leaves I sought
(Though doubtful whether he stayed to see).
Thereafter I sat me against a tree.
[A pause then. When Wilhelm speaks again, there’s a small slur to his voice.]
Very often, we seem to lose sight of what we had been running after, had been trying to attain. And once we lose sight of it, we no longer control it to any degree, and it overtakes us. What we had thought we had been chasing turns false, even if we had known it to be false before.
How many here have chased their own “Demons”, attempted to catch their own goals, only to find that the goal had already been passed and lost, and taken a life of its own? A traitorous goal, that was no longer what you had wished it, but something else dressed in the cloth of that desire?
How many of you escaped, and how many overcome?
[Hey, members of Xenohaus. Feel free to see Wilhelm slightly slumping in his chair as he speaks on the phone, and a glass of wine and near empty bottle of it beside him.
Guess who decided to test and see what effects alcohol would have on his now-human body and what it would be like to be intoxicated?]

Date: 2010-09-22 05:51 am (UTC)In essence, she broke the chains that bound her. Understand that fate exists, but not in a way most think of it. Fate is not one linear direction, but a game of chess with a multitude of different, but finite, combination of moves. In nearly all previous times the board had been set, she had been forced into checkmate.
This last time, she and her allies forced me into it.

Date: 2010-09-22 06:10 am (UTC)[She looks up at the sound of Albedo's voice and she smiles cheerily, glad to see him.] Darling! Good to see you, we've only been talking~

Date: 2010-09-22 06:15 am (UTC)You were still present in a form, Albedo, merely not as an actor.
[He nods a bit in Theta's direction.]
Correct. I wanted them to show me they could grow. And they did. Or so I thought.

Date: 2010-09-22 06:32 am (UTC)Drinking is best done socially, Darling~
[Action]
Date: 2010-09-22 06:42 am (UTC)Mmm, I'm unsure about that. Do you believe company makes an event more enjoyable, Albedo?
[His eyes dart back to his ally. ...Is he genuinely smiling, teasingly, at you Albedo?
Yeah, he is.]

Date: 2010-09-22 07:06 am (UTC)*His left hand falls down to Theta's shoulder.* I certainly believe I can enjoy myself given the present cast~

Date: 2010-09-22 08:38 pm (UTC)I should think you would like the company gathered here better then much of the company you spent with the rest of your stagehands during our last performance, hmm?

Date: 2010-09-22 10:57 pm (UTC)I've never enjoyed the company of other living beings as much as I've enjoyed your company, Wilhelm, Darling.
...Go get yourself a glass, Darling, you can't stand there and be the only one sober.
Here's to good company, regardless of how it's come to be.

Date: 2010-09-23 02:33 am (UTC)[He raises his glass a bit higher along with Theta in a toast before draining it and putting it down, steadying himself by grabbing the back of his chair as he stands up.]
No, no...I'll get a glass for him. I would think it quite unfortunate for you two to be separated unnecessarily.
[God, you can hear the smile in his voice. It's absurdly disconcerting as he begins to walk back towards the kitchen, clearly wobbling a bit by this point.]
[Action] *Laughing so hard at this.*
Date: 2010-09-23 03:02 am (UTC)[Action] We all need to be in an AIM chat coordinating this or something.
Date: 2010-09-23 03:13 am (UTC)He...really does seem sloshed. ...You and I have a fair ways to catch up to him. [And she's going to on her third glass pretty well--she's really trying to catch up quickly!]
[Action] I would, but I'm about to start in on a gaming session IRL so AIM isn't really a go
Date: 2010-09-23 03:29 am (UTC)Dammit.
[That's a first, huh, Albedo?]
[Action] Ahh well...and I need a shocked icon here >.<;

Date: 2010-09-23 05:45 am (UTC)...Perhaps it would be better for you to get your own glass, Albedo.
[There's a small, brushing sound. Apparently, Wilhelm has found a broom and dustpan and is trying to clean the glass up.]
