Failing to make any move in what they've given us with the ballet will only hurt ourselves, in my opinion. It's better to make a move then to let the opportunity for one be wasted.
I've been talking. I've been -thinking-. I know how to help everyone! If we work together, we'll find a way out. But we all need to be on the same page!
Death...it's meaningless! Why are we spending so much time and energy avoiding it when we could just move forward in spite of it? People are afraid! They're holding back progress!! I have to help them, Wilhelm...have to free them....
Simply killing them won't remove the fear of death, Theta. It's a naturally human reaction. And attempting to work against it with the rules this place has set up is despicable.
It's the only way left to try and help them, Wilhelm. [Theta sounds desperate. Her sanity is cracking and she's slapping together ideas based on trying to patch the holes instead of sound logic.]
I want so much to help them.... I'm an ergaleomancer, it's my duty to help them.... [And she's starting to cry.]
[If you were looking for compassion to be there, Theta, it isn't. Not at the moment. He intends to instruct you towards how he believes you should be thinking, not pamper you.]
It is not the only way. You're giving in. And you're stronger then that.
[She's too out of it to hope for compassion, and really that might just make her emotions go even more out of control. He's being her rock in the storm right now, and that's what's needed.]
I'm not giving in! I'm following the logic! This is logical, it's the only way. It's the way that makes sense!
Albedo and I kill each other. It's -fun- and we enjoy it. And it's because of the lack of repercussions to death that we have here.
If it's not wrong for us to do that, then there's nothing wrong with dying.
If there's nothing wrong with dying, then fighting to save ourselves from death when it solves so many other problems....the logical solution is to stop trying to safeguard ourselves against death!
Death is not meant to be taken so lightly, and that is one of the many mockeries of this place. By doing this, you simply give them authority. That it might be some pleasure you and Albedo have found is between the two of you. You have no right to demand others might feel the same.
Going home isn't an option, obvious, not with the recent Christmas chaos. That would be an awful lot of hubbub - fun, on their part, more than likely - wasted. Still, it does bring to question just what the ballot is for, then.
I believe that, once enough people vote they want to go home, they'll give us the reason as to why we can't. And I want to know what they're reasoning is. Of course, they could do something terrible aside from that, but even then. I want to see what they're trying to pull. They're quite clearly bragging at the moment, as well.
And you'll try to chance that sort of disaster for something so simple as a reason?
[ Of course he would. Sherlock's speaking merely out of curiosity there - he'd have done most of anything to find out reason here, himself. ]
They are bragging, but what instigated it? They're playing, and they most definitely want people to vote. Reason's as good an incentive as any, but why toy with everyone so simply after what happened on Christmas? It's like giving a papercut to a victim of a car crash.
Because they believe that the power they have gives them the leeway too. It'd be the simplest answer. Though, of course, I hardly know that's definitely the case.
I believe they think we're weak at the moment, and easier to lead. I hope we show that we aren't.
They have that weakness to aid them. People are injured, desperate, and, worst of all, panicked. If they've any brain cells to rub together, they won't vote. Those that think they're being clever will vote to stay. Though if they're desperate enough, then, yes, perhaps they will vote to go home.
