ubermenschingThere is a good chance that, due to how obscure his canon is, many people don't know who Wilhelm is. In his universe, Wilhelm is a being created by the collective unconscious of humanity to protect them from the eventual decline and stagnation of the universe. He is, in no small terms, a conglomeration of the psychic energy of not just all mankind, but every sentient creature that has ever existed, and power-wise he is near the status of a demi-god.
Considering this, Wilhelm's powers, once he starts regaining them, are incredibly impressive. He possesses the knowledge to identify who and what someone is, as well as peering into their conscious (basically mind reading), as well as the power to assert physical and mental control over someone. The way these powers are being handled is that is' assumed the longer Wilhelm stays in Mayfield, the more he becomes entwined in the collective unconscious of the people there, and thus begins regaining his powers through the regains the town gives.
The thing is, many of Wilhelm's powers could be considered god-moding, despite the fact that they will be cut down considerably in power either way. He's also a considerable meddler in people's lives, considering the fact that he believes it his duty to guide mankind. Thus, I'm putting up a permissions post to see who'd be willing to go through some of Wilhelm's schemes and powers when he regains them.
PERMISSIONS;
Character Name: This is pretty self-explanatory.

How much about you is Wilhelm allowed to know: How much personal info will you say Wilhelm is allowed to know about you once he regains his power to dive into people's unconscious?
Is Wilhelm Allowed to Meddle In your Life: Do you mind if Wilhelm takes interest in you and begins to meddle in your life as he receives his powers back?
Can Wilhelm Mind/Physically Control You: Once Wilhelm gets his powers of mind control and physical command back, is he allowed to use them on your character?

It should also be noted that, due to his nature as a supernatural being, Wilhelm is naturally going to have an easier time identifying another supernatural/paranormal creature. Being an outside force himself that's trying to influence humanity, he's going to identify others that might be outside influences. Power(s): The fairies powers aren't really focused upon heavily in the storyline, but they are powerful enough to wield some magic. In Elfaria's case, she has the ability to fly and was said to be the original wielder of a powerful jeweled crossbow called the Tasla.
How much about you is Wilhelm allowed to know: He can know as much as he want, Elfaria would be easy to read like an open book. He can learn about her days as the Queen of Ringford, and even gain some knowledge regarding the wars that took place for the Crystallization Cauldron.

Power(s): Hanekoma's the most powerful being in the game, but few of his abilities are really elaborated on. At the moment, he only has one power regained; he can shift to a higher state of existence, thus letting out his Angel wings and pinging all energy-/spiritually-sensitive people nearby. I can explain his other regains as they come.
How much about you is Wilhelm allowed to know: Everything! (http://twewy.wikia.com/wiki/Sanae_Hanekoma) Hanekoma's mind is inhuman and probably feels off, so... right off the bat, it'll be apparent that the guy isn't what he says he is. I think Wilhelm will be able to read his thoughts alright, as Hanekoma's yet to regain any psychic abilities and block him out, but he might be able to tell that someone's looking around in there.

Date: 2010-07-18 06:21 pm (UTC)Also, since the psychics in Psychonauts tend to deal a lot with visual symbolism of psychological concepts, Wilhelm's arrival in Mayfield is probably going to feel like a nuclear warhead going off to Raz due to the nature of what he is. Raz may not catch exactly what Wilhelm is, but he'll be able to tell he isn't human and definitely isn't something that should freely be walking around.

Race: Human, but on a higher level - basically, he was originally human, but then ascended to become basically a god.
Power(s): At the moment, Joshua only has the ability to create Noise - sort of like non-sentient Pokemon that are attracted to negative emotion. In canon, he has a lot of psychic powers - telekinesis, levitation, energy beams - again, he's basically a god.
How much about you is Wilhelm allowed to know: Anything mentioned in canon is fair game! Although he might find it difficult to read Joshua's mind - he'll probably get images and memories, but not actual sentences.

Power(s): Ergaleomancy - Elizabeθ is an Ergaleomancer, capable of building all types of clockworks and clanks large and small. Clockworks can do nearly anything, from sewing to frying fish, even all the way up to guns and rays that bend physics and reality, such as a gender gun that can invert one's gender or a machine that can travel through time and dimensions.
How much about you is Wilhelm allowed to know: Theta has no conceivable way of protecting herself from having her mind dug through, though I would ask that you double check with me before committing to a detail.
Is Wilhelm Allowed to Meddle In your Life: Please do, though if it's going to be spectacular, double check with me before hand. I'm easy to message!
Can Wilhelm Mind/Physically Control You: Given Theta's unique connection to the collective unconscious of her own world, I don't think Wilhelm would be able to use her ergaleomancy powers directly. Aside from having a basic idea in mind of what she wants a device to do, the only 'designing' she has to do is make sure the moving parts are capable of freely moving in the directions and ways they need to go (and in this the 'craftsmanship' aspect of it lies, as some clockworks are better than others). The main bulk of her work is handled by using herself as a 'conduit', to pour in magical power (provided by ergaleomancy) and knowledge (from her world's collective unconscious) to infuse a device with abilities that should not work or otherwise be possible. If he's a manifestation of it, I'm not sure how he'd cope with how she uses it...? We should probably talk directly about this if it ever comes up.
However! Barring figuring that out, yes, he can puppet her around.
